A 10-acre family farm in the heart of Mithila — where fruit orchards, fish ponds and folk art come together for a slow, soulful village holiday.
Our Story
Mithila Meadows is a family-run farm spread across 10 fertile acres in Madhubani, the homeland of the world-renowned Mithila (Madhubani) folk art. For generations, our land has nurtured the fruits, fish and grain of north Bihar.
Today, we open our gates to travellers who want to slow down — to walk barefoot through mango orchards at sunrise, learn to fish in our ponds, sip nimbu-paani made from lemons plucked steps away, and fall asleep under a sky thick with stars.
Our Orchards
Most of our land is given to fruit. Walk through shaded groves where seasons announce themselves with colour and scent.

Season · Apr – Jul
Our second-largest planting — fragrant kagzi lemons used in our kitchen, pickled in our courtyard, and squeezed into welcome drinks for every guest.
Season · Year-round
Bihar's pride — sweet, blushing litchis ready for plucking in the heart of summer.
Season · May – Jun
Tall, shady canopies dropping deep-purple monsoon fruit — tart, sweet and unforgettable.
Season · Jun – Aug
Tall clusters of farm-grown bananas that fruit year-round — sweet, slightly tart and picked at peak ripeness.

Ancient, generous trees whose massive fruits emerge straight from the trunk — a staple of our seasonal kitchen, savoury and sweet alike.

Six Fish Ponds
Six spring-fed ponds dot the property — quiet, lily-strewn, alive with rohu, catla and mrigal. Mornings here begin with mist on the water and the soft slap of a fisherman's net.

"
Three days at Mithila Meadows felt like a month of rest. We picked mangoes at dawn, learned to paint a fish in Madhubani style at noon, and ate the best dal-chawal of our lives at night. It's the village holiday I didn't know I was missing.

Guest Reviews
"My kids didn't ask for the phone even once. They were too busy chasing chickens, picking lemons and learning to throw a fishing net. The mud cottages are gorgeous and surprisingly cool inside."
"The mango season visit was a dream. We came for two nights and stayed for five. The hosts treat you like family — and the Madhubani painting workshop with their local artist was the highlight of the trip."
"As a solo traveller from Mumbai, I was nervous about rural Bihar. Mithila Meadows changed everything I thought I knew. Safe, warm, beautifully run — and the fish curry alone is worth the train ride."
"We did a heritage trip across Mithila and ended at the farm. Dawn walks through the lemon orchard, bullock-cart ride to a weaver's village, bonfire under the stars. Authentic without being staged."
"Monsoon visit — pure green everywhere, ponds brimming, jamun trees dropping fruit constantly. Wifi is patchy (which is the point) and one evening was rained out, but the food and hospitality more than made up."
"Travelled with my elderly parents — they were wary of a 'farm stay' but ended up loving every moment. Clean rooms, hot home-cooked meals, slow mornings on the pond bunds with tea. Will return."
